On the initiative of the Cultural Representative of the Community Council in 2008-2009 donations were collected by the villagers in order to have an icon of St Antonio´s prepared by a specialist.  The icon measures 70x150cm and depicts St Antonios standing.  Behind the Saint can be seen part of the Massari village and the old chpel of St Antonio.  The icon was blessed at a ceremony on 16.01.2009 and was placed temporarily in the church of St Varnava and Ilarionos in Peristeron. Every January 16^th during the afternoon ceremony it is moved to the old chapel of St Antonios in Peristerona. 

The icon will eventually be transferred to the old chapel of St Antonios in Massari, with a march from Peristerona to Massari, where a solution to the Cypriot problem is found and the church restored.
